My name is Doug Judd and this is my blog.  I am the CTO of Hypertable, Inc. (www.hypertable.com), the company that develops Hypertable, a high performance, scalable database written in C++.  I very much enjoy designing and developing software and that’s what I spend most of my time doing.  Most of the posts you’ll find in this blog relate to topics that I encounter through the course of Hypertable development, however, I may also periodically post on non-professional topics of personal interest.

I was born in 1968 in Livermore, CA, which is where my parents lived at the time, since my father was working at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.  We moved to Sunnyvale, CA when I was 9 months old and that is where I spent my childhood.  I am married to a wonderful woman, Rebecca, and we have two beautiful daughters, Ellison and Tuesday.  We currently live in Burlingame, CA (the header photo was taken from our back yard).  I also have a sister that lives in Connecticut.  I’ve recently become a fan of baseball and like to watch the San Francisco Giants and Oakland Athletics.  My principal form of exercise is bicycling and I regularly go out for rides on my road bike.
